It is mostly known, however, for its tourism, and award winning wines. The first vineyards were established here in 1823. Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, can easily be found along with small quantities of Pinot Noir. This wine industry is centered in the Pokolbin area.

Concerts featuring the world’s top musical talents, breweries, spas, olives and oils, and fine cheeses are additional attractions.

Every year in Seville, Spain locals and foreigners gather together for their well know and loved Seville Spring Fair. This is a great event that’s unlike nearly anything else in the world, including many of the great festivals you’ll find throughout the other cities of Spain.

This beloved event is typically started on the Monday two weeks after they celebrate the Holy Week. This festival will generally last about a week before winding down.

There are many different festivities and events that happen through out the week. Among them are carriages that will transport the town’s officials. Other events include gathering every day in the arena to watch the bullfighters.

There are also many festively decorated tents or casetas as called by the locals, lining the river bank. Often times as you pass them you will seen of the popular locals having drinks together.

The locals will spend all day out enjoying the festivities. Many are known to be dancing all day. This is a truly festive event that brings out the best in everyone and every Spaniard who attends it takes full advantage of the offerings and the special nature of this event in general.

Tapas, which are snacks and finger foods are brought and shared by all the locals. All kinds of foods are prepared here and there’s something for everyone.

In 1847, the locals would bring in their livestock for the queens approval. This made the Seville Fair a much anticipated event for years and year. Now, even after years and years of this tradition, it is still just as celebrated now as it was 160 years ago.
