Bay of Fundy: A Tidal Roller Coaster
The highest tides in the world are found in the Bay of Fundy. In this spot of absolute wonder, the tides rise about 50 feet in six hours, which is more than twenty-two times higher than the average tide found in open seas. Established in 1948, Fundy National Park, preserves over 80 square miles of coastal land along the west side of the Bay of Fundy. Along this rocky, cave-pocked shore the cold tidal waters have carved massive stones into all sorts of unique shapes and forms.
